Job summary

Apex is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Ground Software team in Playa Vista. This role designs, builds, and operates the ground and site network infrastructure connecting Apex facilities and mission operations across commercial and secured environments.

You will architect highly available Kubernetes clusters, enforce security posture, and drive uptime for mission-critical programs. The role requires hands-on coding in Python or Go and strong IaC with Terraform/Terragrunt.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of site reliability, infrastructure, or network engineering in mission-critical domains.
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes and containers in production.
• Hands-on experience with ground/network infrastructure for secured environments.
• Experience with CI/CD, automation, and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Security/compliance mindset for regulated environments; defensible security posture.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build ground and site network infrastructure across multiple environments.
• Design, deploy, and scale highly available Kubernetes clusters for multi-level security workloads.
• Own the security posture of ground infrastructure and enforce controls and hardening.
• Develop IaC using Terraform, Terragrunt to enable repeatable environments.
• Establish observability with monitoring, logging, and alerting across the network.
• Design and run CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and reduce manual work.
• Act as primary SRE for ground systems, driving uptime and incident response.
