Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to ensure our flight and ground software meets the highest quality standards. You will define tests, contribute to automated pipelines, and prepare releases for missions from Earth orbit to Mars.

This role partners with engineering across programs, supports CI/CD, and helps tailor development processes. A strong background in C/C++/Python and hands-on QA in a regulated, space-focused environment is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field.
• 3+ years of software quality assurance or test automation.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Python.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Experience tailoring software development processes.
• Experience writing or editing software user documentation.
• Experience with Git repositories and artifacts.
• Proven track record in CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Write software development, configuration, and test plans.
• Define comprehensive test plans: functional, integration, system, UAT.
• Coordinate releases and deliveries with customers.
• Collaborate on code reviews and CI/CD pipeline improvements.
• Define quality metrics and dashboards for monitoring.
• Verify release candidates pass testing.
• Evaluate compliance with software development processes.
