Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. invites an experienced PCB layout engineer to join our Space Sector in Dulles, VA. You will focus on board-level design for high-reliability spaceflight hardware, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver precise, robust layouts.

The role emphasizes end-to-end layout tasks, high-speed routing, and adherence to aerospace standards. U.S. citizenship is required for this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent).
• Experience with Cadence Allegro in aerospace/high-reliability environments is essential.
• Proven multilayer board layout with SI/PI considerations.
• U.S. Citizenship required for government-related work.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end PCB layout using Cadence Allegro PCB Designer.
• Develop multilayer, high-density interconnect (HDI) layouts for space environments.
• Create/maintain PCB symbols, footprints, and padstacks per internal standards.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to meet constraints.
• Apply high-speed routing, differential pairs, length tuning, and EMI/EMC practices.
• Incorporate blind/buried vias and stackup design for rigid/flex assemblies.
• Generate fabrication and assembly files and participate in design reviews.
• Adhere to NASA-STD-8739.x and IPC-2221/2222 standards.
