Job summary

Parallax Space, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer with a strong focus on PCB design to support spacecraft electronics, payload electronics, avionics, test hardware, and mission-enabling electrical systems.

The role involves design, layout, build, test, and production transition of circuit boards and electrical assemblies used in high-reliability space systems, with cross-functional collaboration across mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–7 years of electrical engineering with direct PCB design/test responsibility.
• Hands-on schematic capture and PCB development experience.
• Experience with mixed-signal, digital, or power electronics.
• Strong lab testing and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of PCB layout fundamentals incl. EMI/EMC and grounding.
• Ability to read and create schematics, BOMs, and engineering docs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced hardware environment.
• Eligibility to access ITAR/EAR-controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Design and support development of PCBs for spacecraft payloads and avionics.
• Create schematics, select components, define interfaces, and support layout.
• Coordinate stackups, impedance control, power distribution, grounding, and manufacturability.
• Perform board bring-up, testing, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Document designs, BOMs, interfaces, assembly notes, and revision records.
• Collaborate across systems, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and supply chain.
• Support transition to production and flight hardware.
