Job summary

Amazon LEO seeks an experienced technician to join the aerospace hardware team. You will assemble, integrate, and test opto-mechanical and fiber optic devices, perform precision fiber splicing, and validate laser system performance.

You will coordinate lab tasks, document results, and work with engineers to resolve integration challenges. Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in a related field and 4+ years in aerospace hardware testing, with experience in qualification campaigns and lab

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in the assembly, integration, and test of aerospace hardware in a development or production environment.
  • Experience executing qualification test campaigns for aerospace or defense hardware.
  • Experience coordinating lab tasks across concurrent activities using ticketing or project management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, integrate, and test opto-mechanical and fiber optic devices and test stations to specs.
  • Execute qualification test procedures for aerospace hardware and track progress against plans.
  • Perform precision fiber optic splicing, termination, and characterization; validate quality with measurements.
  • Measure and characterize optical assemblies and laser systems; document results and flag anomalies.
  • Maintain strict cleanliness and proper optical/fiber handling throughout build processes.
  • Coordinate task execution within assigned workstreams and monitor progress for risks.
  • Support development and improvement of assembly and test procedures from hands-on build experience.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve integration challenges and provide manufacturability feedback.
