Amentum in Houston seeks an experienced Machinist II to join the JETSII contract. This is a union position under a CBA. The role requires operating and programming various CNC machines, reading detailed drawings, and ensuring parts meet exacting tolerances.

Responsibilities include setting up machines, selecting tools, and training junior machinists while maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of 4 years machinist experience.
• Familiarity in at least one CNC programming language.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsabilités

• Plan, layout, machine and assemble to precision tolerances parts per blueprints.
• Set up and operate engine lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related equipment.
• Determine cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and setup to meet tolerances.
• Train less experienced machinists and provide technical direction as needed.
• Work from detailed drawings, templates, sketches, and assembly blueprints.
