Job summary

Trident Systems is seeking a Principal FPGA Engineer in Fairfax, VA to design, implement, and verify high-speed FPGA solutions for space-based electronic systems using Xilinx AMD devices. The role emphasizes RTL design, timing closure, simulation, and system integration within a collaborative environment supporting DoD, IC, and civil space customers.

You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with hardware and software teams, with travel as needed and a strong focus on engineering rigor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 9+ years of FPGA/engineering experience with a bachelor's
• Experience with Xilinx SoC/FPGA devices using the Vivado Design Suite.
• Proficient in RTL design, timing closure, verification, and power analyses.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and verify high-speed FPGA designs for space applications.
• Lead RTL development using VHDL and Vivado IP Integrator.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams during integration and testing.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Travel or off-site work as needed.
