Job summary

Trident Systems in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Senior FPGA Signal Processing Engineer (Image/Video and Compression) to architect and verify high-speed FPGA-based pipelines for space-grade imaging systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related technical degree.
• Minimum of 6 years of related FPGA or signal-processing experience with a bachelor's degree, or 4 years with a master's degree.
• Experience implementing signal-processing algorithms in FPGA hardware with fixed-point optimization.
• Ability to adapt existing algorithms for hardware implementations and constraints.
• Experience with RTL design using VHDL or Verilog and MATLAB-based modeling.

Responsibilities

• Architect FPGA-based pipelines for image/video processing and compression for space systems.
• Translate MATLAB algorithms into FPGA architectures and verify against models.
• Create RTL modules and testbenches for high-throughput designs.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams and participate in design reviews.
• Lead code reviews, document interfaces, and mentor junior engineers.
