Job summary

Aegis Aerospace, Inc. seeks an experienced Software Engineer for Flight & Ground Systems in Webster, TX. You will design, develop, and test embedded flight software and supporting ground applications for MISSE-FF, TAMU-SPIRIT, SSTEF, and related facilities.

Onsite work and travel to support integration, testing, and operations are expected. Responsibilities include building embedded Linux software, hardware interfaces, and ground control tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience developing software using C++ and Python, plus Linux and embedded systems.
• Experience designing and testing software interfacing with hardware and circuits.
• Willingness to work onsite in Webster, TX and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain software for spaceflight equipment and ground systems.
• Develop embedded Linux applications for custom circuit boards and spaceflight hardware.
• Create and maintain ground apps to command, control, and monitor flight hardware and experiments.
• Build user interfaces, network communication, and test software.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate new circuit-board designs.
• Support verification, payload integration, and on-orbit operations as required.
