Job summary

United States Courts - Western District of Texas is seeking a Space and Facilities Specialist in Texas. The role supports space planning, design review, budgeting, and district-wide coordination of building activities within the Space and Facilities Department.

The position requires three years of related experience and a four-year degree is highly preferred. Salary ranges from $60,610 to $92,023; closing date is August 28, 2026, with potential promotional opportunity to CL 28 for eligible

Qualifications

  • Three years of progressively responsible professional or administrative experience related to interior design, space planning, move coordination, and familiarity with building codes.
  • Ability to negotiate with vendors and work with judges, court unit executives, managers and judicial employees.
  • Four-year college degree in a related field is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. Courts Design Guide is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage space and facilities projects from planning through completion, including scopes, budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
  • Coordinate with interior contractor, furniture and furnishing vendors for chambers and Clerk’s office spaces.
  • Review GSA contract specs/blueprints for compliance with the Court’s Design Guide.
  • Monitor budgets, schedules, and expenditures; perform cost analysis and cost control measures.
  • Prepare Reimbursable Work Authorizations and related payments.
  • Coordinate surveys for new or renovated space and respond to space requirements.
  • Maintain procurement files and the Master Property List.
