Job summary

Western District of Texas is seeking a Space & Facilities Specialist in the San Antonio or Austin area. The role oversees space projects from planning through completion, including budgets, schedules, and procurement, in close coordination with GSA and court staff.

The ideal candidate will have 3 years of relevant experience, strong vendor negotiation skills, and a four-year degree preferred. Knowledge of design guides and ability to work across multiple offices is important.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible professional or administrative experience related to interior design, space planning, move coordination, and familiarity with building codes.
• Ability to negotiate with vendors and work with user groups including judges and managers.
• A four-year college degree in a related field is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with the U.S. Courts Design Guide is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage space and facilities projects from planning through completion, including scope, budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
• Coordinate with interior contractors, furniture and furnishing vendors for chambers and Clerk’s office spaces.
• Review GSA contract specs and blueprints for compliance with the Court’s Design Guide.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, expenditures and perform cost analysis to keep projects within funding.
• Develop furniture layouts and assist in procurement of furniture and furnishings; prepare purchase orders and payment authorizations.
• Prepare Reimbursable Work Authorizations and related correspondence for new or renovated space; verify charges and authorize payment.
