Job summary

Mclaurin Aerospace seeks a Project Engineer - Exercise for NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. You will generate documentation, assemble and test hardware, and coordinate with test facilities to enable flight readiness for deep-space exploration.

Responsibilities include developing test procedures, troubleshooting hardware, and preparing flight articles for launch, while collaborating with NASA engineers and procurement teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school.
  • Experience with test procedure development.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and interaction with customers and management at all levels.
  • Experience with hardware anomaly troubleshooting and failure analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Generate essential paperwork and documents (TPS, DR, DTP) as needed.
  • Maintain baseline test configuration and document changes.
  • Generate assembly and test procedures.
  • Assemble and test hardware.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures in flight and test hardware and rework as needed.
  • Design, assemble, and evaluate test fixtures.
  • Coordinate with test facilities and document external tests (EMI, Acoustic, Vibration, Thermal Cycle).
  • Place and track procurements accurately.
  • Generate verification documentation and review design memos and test reports.
  • Work with NASA Engineering to assess certification products.
