Job summary

Nexus seeks an Electronics Design Engineer to join the Space Exploration Electronic Systems team on the JETS II program. You will act as SME for VIPER's electrical power subsystem and lead testbed activities, wiring, and lab integration with NASA standards.

You will develop power budgets, perform simulations, and write LabVIEW/DIAdem reports while collaborating with engineers and technicians in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment. This is a temporary part-time role based in Houston, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; 5–10 years of related engineering experience preferred.
• Experience with power system analysis for mission operations and simulation modeling.
• Proficiency in DIAdem data analysis and automated reporting.
• Experience with power supply design, switching regulators, and conditioning systems.
• Experience with FPGA/VHDL development and embedded software environments.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager as part of a team of engineers.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert for VIPER's electrical power subsystem.
• Provide VIPER Mission Operations Support, including monitoring telemetry and subsystem performance.
• Develop and maintain power budgets, load analyses, and fault-response logic.
• Conduct extensive system testing and testbed management for VIPER-related hardware.
• Document test configurations and analyze results for anomaly resolution.
• Collaborate with technicians and engineers on design, testing, and deployment.
