Job summary

General Atomics in Acton, MA seeks a Systems Engineer for Space EO/IR Payload efforts within the Optical Sensor System Group. The role spans pre-award concept development, architecture definition, interface requirements, design, testing, verification, production support and orbit operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering or related field with progressive experience.
Experience with EO/IR space sensors and payload systems.
Strong breadth across Space Systems and Ground Test Domain.
Experience leading EO/IR sensor assembly, integration and test teams.
Ability to present results clearly to customers and senior management.
DoD security clearance or ability to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

Apply EO/IR knowledge to develop space payload architectures for weather, earth science, ISR or other missions.
Develop, interface, integrate and test EO/IR payload systems with complex hardware/software attributes.
Support concept development, system architecture, requirements and modeling/simulation.
Organize and review technical efforts, documentation, and deliverables with program management.
Provide guidance on risks and opportunities and resolve technical issues.
