Job summary

Trident Systems Inc is seeking a Quality Inspector for our Chantilly, VA location. The role focuses on validating materials and shipments against Space-Flight Quality standards, with in-process and final inspections across Receiving, Manufacturing, and Test.

The candidate will inspect electrical and mechanical parts, review build docs, generate NCRs, and ensure ISO/AS9100 compliance, with opportunities to mentor staff and contribute to safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of experience in manufacturing or inspection fields of electronic components or assemblies.
• Ability to read engineering documentation and inspect to drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
• Willingness to work off shift activities with occasional overtime, weekend, and Holiday support as required.
• Experience inspecting to NASA 8739 series or IPC/J-STD-001 for circuit card assemblies, or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge of SMT and through-hole parts and ability to discern acceptability criteria of both part types.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections on Electrical and Mechanical components at part, assembly, and sub-assembly levels.
• Generate nonconformance reports and assist in disposition discussions with MRB/PMRB/FRB.
• Audit work areas for ISO/AS9100 procedures and Lean principles.
• Review product build documentation for configuration audits and as-built vs as-designed.
• Train and mentor new hires in QA skills and review NCRs with clear defect descriptions.
