Job summary

Iris Technology Corporation in Irvine, CA seeks a Manufacturing/Production Engineer for space electronics hardware. You will own Travelers/Buildbooks, support lab testing, and ensure AS9100 compliance while collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to improve processes and deliver flight hardware.

The role emphasizes on-site hands-on support, documentation development, and continuous improvement in a regulated aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in electronics manufacturing or production engineering within aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of AS9100 quality standards and compliance requirements.
• Hands-on PCB assembly, electronics integration, and test environments.
• Experience developing and maintaining production documentation (Travelers, SWIs, Buildbooks).
• Experience developing training materials and implementing training programs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and PM teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
• Ability to own manufacturing processes and documentation independently.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain Travelers and Buildbooks for production builds and testing activities.
• Define, update, and optimize build and test procedures as manufacturing processes evolve.
• Enforce AS9100 process requirements during production and ensure compliance with manufacturing documentation.
• Provide hands-on laboratory support during assembly, integration, and testing operations.
• Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Program Management to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement to increase production efficiency and process consistency.
• Interface with Design Engineering for manufacturability and testability feedback.
• Support resolution of vendor-related issues impacting schedules or processes.
• Develop scalable manufacturing documentation and compliance processes as the organization grows.
• Develop training materials and implement training programs.
