Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist III to implement and monitor our environmental safety programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will manage safety equipment inventories, conduct inspections, and coordinate with regulatory agencies.

You will develop and deliver EHS training, perform risk assessments, investigate incidents, prepare environmental reports, and stay current with evolving standards.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +3 yrs experience).
• Typically 5+ years of related experience in environmental health and safety.
• Knowledge of EHS management systems such as ISO45001, ISO14001, or similar.
• Expertise in EHS-related topics such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit-Required Confined Spaces (PRCS), fall protection/prevention, SPCC, air permitting, etc.
• Prior experience with RCRA, CERCLA, EPA, hazardous wastes, air emissions, etc. is required.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor company environmental safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain safety equipment inventory and perform periodic safety inspections.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs and conduct risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation; stay current with evolving EHS regulations.
