Karman Space & Defense in Corona, CA, is seeking an experienced accountant to join our finance team. You will maintain reliable accounting records, perform reconciliations, and support month-end closes while ensuring ASC 606 revenue recognition and compliance with accounting standards.

The role requires a BA/BS in accounting and at least four years of experience, with strong Excel and ERP skills. You will collaborate with Contracts and Finance to verify contract values and contribute to cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
• Four or more years of experience in accounting practices.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
• Excellent data entry, analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
• Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, stress, and time management skills.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsabilités

• Performs general accounting tasks and maintains accurate financial records.
• Creates and posts journal entries and clears bank adjusting entries.
• Completes monthly bank reconciliations and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) checklists.
• Reconciles petty cash and verifies company credit card transactions.
• Provides backup support for accounts payable and reconciles Received Not Invoiced (RNI) accounts.
• Sends vendor payment remittances and supports month-end reporting activities.
• Investigates general ledger (GL) variances to ensure an accurate and timely close.
• Assists with data gathering for cost analysis, including cost validation for percentage of completion (POC).
• Coordinates with Contracts and Finance teams to verify contract values and support revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Updates job status and verifies information in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
