Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking an Accountant in Corona, CA to support accurate financial reporting and month‑end close activities. You will maintain reliable accounting records, perform reconciliations, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and ASC 606 guidance.

The role requires a BA/BS in Accounting (or equivalent) and 4+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and a disciplined, detail‑oriented approach to data analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
• Four or more years of experience in accounting practices.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
• Excellent data entry, analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs general accounting tasks and maintains accurate financial records.
• Creates and posts journal entries and clears bank adjusting entries.
• Completes monthly bank reconciliations and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) checklists.
• Reconciles petty cash and verifies company credit card transactions.
• Provides backup support for accounts payable and reconciles Received Not Invoiced (RNI) accounts.
• Sends vendor payment remittances and supports month-end reporting activities.
• Investigates general ledger (GL) variances to ensure an accurate and timely close.
• Assists with data gathering for cost analysis, including cost validation for percentage of completion (POC).
• Coordinates with Contracts and Finance teams to verify contract values and support revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Updates job status and verifies information in the ERP system.
