Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA is offering a summer cybersecurity intern position. You will assist the information security team with day-to-day work, review alerts, and help prepare for audits. This on-site internship is full-time, with an hourly rate of $33. Housing stipend and commuter benefits are provided.

You will learn how a security team operates during audits, gain hands-on exposure to security tools, and develop clear documentation and reports.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate in cybersecurity, computer science, IT or similar field.
• Basic logs reading and scripting ability required or learned.
• Clear written communication for notes and reports.
• Organized, detail-oriented and asks questions when unclear.
• Eligible to work in the United States for the full internship without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Review security alerts and document actions taken.
• Configure and tune security tools (Zscaler, CrowdStrike, ThreatLocker, Darktrace, AlienVault).
• Maintain up-to-date security event logs for audit readiness.
• Pull and organize sample logs for auditors and compliance.
• Track reports from external security partner and file properly.
• Upload reports into the compliance tracking software.
• Own a summer project from start to finish with lead input.
