Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Technician to fabricate, test, repair, and install avionic equipment for both flight and non-flight systems. You will work from schematics and instructions to assemble, validate, and upgrade avionics components while maintaining safety and mission readiness across prototype and operational hardware.

The role requires handling wire harnesses, sensors, and instrumentation, plus testing with oscilloscopes and diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Experience with precision calibration tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and install avionic equipment—including wire harnesses, sensors, avionics boxes, and instrumentation for flight and non-flight systems.
• Perform functional testing, validation, and checkout of avionics equipment using oscilloscopes, signal generators, and diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, repair, and modify avionic hardware using schematics and detailed work instructions.
• Operate calibrated tools to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Mate/demate harnesses, route cables, solder, crimp, and perform connector rework to aerospace standards.
• Support troubleshooting and maintenance during production and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace applying 5S principles for safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide feedback to engineering and quality teams.
• Document work completed accurately and communicate with engineering and quality teams.
