Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies is seeking a CAD Engineer Associate (Spring 2027) to design and analyze spacecraft components. You will model, draw, and innovate structures for the satellite bus and supporting systems, contributing to a robust design library and documentation practices.

Ideal candidates hold a four-year degree in mechanical or aerospace fields, have SolidWorks experience, and can work in a fast-paced environment with spaceflight components.

Qualifications

• Hold a four-year B.S. degree or currently pursuing an M.S. in mechanical, aerospace, or an equivalent technical field
• Passion for hardware development in a fast-paced environment with hands-on work
• Experience with SolidWorks required
• Experience with GD&T and engineering drawings required
• Bonus: design of complex assemblies
• Experience in spaceflight components and/or vacuum-compatible systems
• Experience with surface modeling

Responsibilities

• Model and draw components, structures, and manifolds for the spacecraft and its supporting structures
• Maintain and improve our design library and data infrastructure
• Develop, ideate, and document considerate practices that enable good and efficient design
