Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks an experienced Software Engineer to support a leading aerospace and defense program. The role is fully onsite in Colorado Springs, CO, and requires an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

You will drive the design, development, and sustainment of mission-critical software for space systems, C2, and real-time data processing. You will lead API/backend architecture, front-end GIS visualizations, and Agile/DevSecOps practices, delivering secure,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience in space/ground systems.
• 5+ years of Python development and 3+ years of JavaScript/TypeScript/Java development.
• 5+ years of full SDLC experience including requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment.
• 5+ years building real-time 2D/3D geospatial UIs and working with PostgreSQL and SQL/NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-lifecycle software development from requirements through deployment and sustainment.
• Architect and develop APIs, backend services, and system integrations with emphasis on security and performance.
• Drive Agile/DevSecOps practices including CI/CD, automated testing, builds, and deployments.
• Develop modern front-end applications and real-time geospatial visualizations.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews across teams.
