Qualifications

• 4-7+ years of hands-on engineering experience developing, integrating, testing, or operating EO/IR, imaging, or optical payload systems.
• Strong fundamentals in imaging performance, radiometry, SNR, MTF, and image quality.
• Experience with imaging sensors, detectors, optical assemblies, or focal plane subsystems.
• Ability to translate technical and mission goals into clear requirements and verification plans.

Responsibilities

• Support development, integration, verification, and performance assessment of optical payload systems for weather observations.
• Translate data needs into payload requirements, interfaces, budgets, and verification plans with senior engineers and scientists.
• Support radiometric calibration and characterization activities to ensure payload performance and data quality meet mission objectives.
• Work across payload, spacecraft, software, systems, and science teams to identify risks and resolve issues.
