Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Kent, WA is seeking an Electrical Test Equipment Design Engineer to lead the design, build, and commissioning of avionics test systems for the Blue Moon program. You will contribute to requirements, design, procurement, and integration of hardware for spaceflight testing, collaborating with technicians and engineers on-site.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with data acquisition and control hardware, ensuring robust test capabilities, and maintaining strict configuration

Qualifications

  • 2+ years industry experience with avionics systems testing.
  • Experience planning, executing, and reporting electronics testing.
  • Ability to produce electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard electronic lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power meters, data acquisition cards, etc)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in requirements, design, procurement, build, integration and checkout of avionics test systems.
  • Support a development environment with open box testing and card-to-card level testing.
  • Create and release drawings of test hardware infrastructure including racks, harnesses, panels, power distribution and grounding.
  • Identify and procure equipment, and coordinate with technicians for the build, assembly, and installation of equipment and harnesses.
  • Support the integration of flight avionics, hardware, operator consoles, and test equipment to verify requirements and performance of avionics units under test.
  • Support checkout of avionics systems and solving technical problems.
  • Maintain configuration control of drawings and the test system configuration.
  • Support problem investigation and resolution.
