Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Kent, WA is seeking an electrical test engineer to design, build and commission avionics test equipment for the Blue Moon lunar lander program. You will develop data acquisition and control systems for testing space vehicle sub-assemblies.

The role requires hands-on work on-site at Kent, WA, with responsibilities spanning requirements, design, procurement, build, integration and checkout of test systems, plus troubleshooting and configuration control.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering, or related technical degree.
  • 2+ years industry experience with avionics systems testing.
  • Ability to produce electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard electronic lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power meters, data acquisition cards, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the requirements, design, architecture, procurement, build, integration, and checkout of the avionics test systems.
  • Support a development environment with open box testing and card to card level testing.
  • Create and release drawings of the test hardware infrastructure, rack layouts, harnesses, breakout boxes/panels, power distribution, and grounding.
  • Identify and procure equipment, and coordinate with technicians for the build, assembly, and installation of equipment and harnesses.
  • Support the integration of flight avionics, hardware, operator consoles, and test equipment to verify the requirements and performance of avionics units under test.
  • Support checkout of the avionics systems and solving technical problems.
  • Maintain configuration control of the drawings and the test system configuration.
  • Support problem investigation and resolution.
