Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking a Space Avionics Test Engineer II to design, build, and operate test systems that stress-test spacecraft avionics to ensure readiness for spaceflight.

You will develop Python-based test procedures, collaborate with REs, and contribute to test automation while supporting HITL testbeds and qualification campaigns. This role advances in-space manufacturing technologies and future missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years in system validation, component testing, or test software development.
• Proficiency in Python and debugging.
• Experience with electronics test equipment (power supplies, DAQ, oscilloscopes, multimeters).
• Familiarity with sensors (thermocouples, RTDs, 4-20mA).
• Proficiency with Git source control.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate test systems for avionics components under environmental stress testing.
• Develop Python software to implement/test procedures, analyze data, and generate reports.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify test cases and devise strategies for performance validation.
• Create test plans and manage qualification, acceptance, and proto-flight tests.
• Coordinate with avionics/test systems and manufacturing to standardize software behavior and data reporting.
• Contribute to test automation and efficiency improvements.
