Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Space Systems Engineer, Avionics to lead design, integration, and testing of avionics for the Winnebago Spaceship. The role requires deep knowledge of avionics systems, manufacturing processes, and mission operations in space and reentry contexts.

You will collaborate across teams to ensure readiness for launch and operation, while mentoring engineers and advancing testing automation and best practices within the group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in system design, test planning and validation.
• Proficient in Python programming and debugging.
• Experience with power supplies, DAQ systems, RTD and 4-20mA devices, and general test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes from concept to production.
• Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, channel count, size and mass.
• Analyze architecture for faults, develop mitigation plans, and support FDIR or workarounds when needed.
• Create comprehensive verification plans for avionics systems on flight and HITL hardware.
