Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer Undergrad Intern for the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Department (DSAID) within the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). The selected candidate will work full-time onsite at our Chantilly, VA or El Segundo, CA facilities to tackle ML/AI projects critical to space missions.

Responsibilities include developing ML experiments in NLP, CV, and time-series, evaluating models for mission-critical systems,

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time in a college program pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in CS, CE, or related field.
• Available to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks and return to degree program after internship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Proficiency in Python, including major ML libraries and tools (PyTorch).
• Understanding of container orchestration tooling (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of ML/AI, software engineering, and statistics.
• Experience with ML Ops/DevOps and ML Development Lifecycle.
• Familiarity with MLOps processes and tools (MLFlow, Data Version Control).
• Knowledge of computer vision or NLP applications leveraging ML models.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Working knowledge of cloud native application development or cloud infrastructure, microservice architectures.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing machine learning and data science experiments in NLP, computer vision, time series, and reinforcement learning.
• Evaluating technologies and data science models for scalable, mission-critical applications.
• Collaborating with teams to deliver features and products.
• Presenting written and verbal results to customer stakeholders.
• Fostering an environment of learning and progress within the team.
