Job Overview
Entry-level soybean processing laborer responsible for manual tasks such as lifting, shoveling, sweeping, painting, and other duties directed by management to keep the facility clean, safe, and operational. The role emphasizes safety compliance and teamwork in a dynamic processing environment.
Responsibilities
- Fully participate in the company Safety Program, Quality Program, and attend daily pre‑shift meetings.
- Perform all duties in compliance with OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Clean all areas of the assigned location as directed to maintain a safe appearance and minimize dust explosion risks (shoveling, sweeping, dusting, power washing, painting, etc.).
- Safely operate all rolling stock as required to keep the location clean and organized.
- Assist in other areas of the plant as directed by management, including operations or maintenance when urgent issues arise.
Education & Experience
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Required: None.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic computer skills.
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
- Basic mechanical skills and aptitude.
- Ability to perform all duties while maintaining security and following directions safely.
- Ability to complete documentation requirements and use tools appropriate for assigned tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands & Requirements
- Perform heavy lifting up to 30 lbs. daily, up to 90 lbs. occasionally; assistance required for loads over 90 lbs.
- Climb ladders or stairs repeatedly to significant elevation, up to 120 feet.
- Use a 300‑pound rated ladder on a regular basis.
- Wear required safety equipment and work at elevated heights (100+ feet).
- Work in confined spaces, around deep water, and under extreme weather conditions.
- Stand and walk constantly/continuously; bend, stoop, twist, crouch, or squat frequently.
- Use peripheral vision and depth perception for tasks.
- Perform work in an environment with high dust levels and rotating shifts, including overtime, weekend, holidays, and alternate shifts as needed.
- Meet requirements of PFT and fit testing, and use all applicable PPE.

Pay
Expected base pay range: $17.22 – $21.85 per hour, varying based on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
