Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Senior IT Compliance professional to own the SOX ITGC program across financial systems. You’ll design automated controls, lead audits with CIO and external auditors, and translate findings into actionable executive briefings.

You’ll collaborate with system owners, drive cross‑functional initiatives, and manage agile-style project delivery in a hybrid work environment with a strong focus on risk reduction and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field or four or more years of work experience.
• Six years of progressive experience in IT compliance, IT internal/external audit, or technical systems engineering (military equivalent experience accepted).
• Hands-on understanding of CI/CD pipelines, software development lifecycles (SDLC), database architecture, and cloud/infrastructure security.
• Advanced knowledge of SOX audit frameworks, US GAAP/SOX requirements, and ITGC evaluation techniques.
• Executive storytelling: translate raw audit data and technical risks into clear, business-focused insights for C-suite leaders.

Responsibilities

• SOX Program Ownership: Architect and execute the IT General Controls roadmap across planning, testing, evidence collection, and final certification.
• Control Automation: Design and implement automated control validation mechanisms to eliminate manual processes, reduce human error, and scale compliance efforts.
• Audit Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the lead liaison for CIO, Internal Audit, Finance, and external auditors to streamline testing and align governance standards.
• Technical Remediation: Partner with system owners to evaluate deficiencies and design automated remediation plans.
• Agile Project Management: Direct cross-functional compliance initiatives, tracking deliverables, managing resources, and mitigating project timeline risks.
• Executive Reporting: Translate complex audit findings and risk metrics into actionable briefings for executive leadership and steering committees.
