Job summary

Palmetto Clean Technology is seeking a SOX Compliance Director to own and lead our Sarbanes-Oxley program. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of accounting, controls assurance, and cross-functional collaboration, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer.

The ideal candidate will have deep ICFR experience, a builder’s mindset, and credibility with executives. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining a scalable SOX 404 framework to position Palmetto for PCAOB

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or external audit, with at least 3 years in a SOX leadership role.
• Experience with PCAOB standards and COSO framework.
• Experience scaling a SOX program in pre-IPO or newly public company preferred.
• Strong documentation and communication skills for executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end SOX 404 compliance program, including scoping, risk assessment, controls documentation, testing, and remediation.
• Design and oversee controls testing procedures per PCAOB standards and manage testing timelines.
• Serve as primary SOX subject matter expert to accounting, finance, IT, and HR process owners.
• Prepare SOX status reporting and key metrics for executive leadership and Audit Committee.
