NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a publicly traded financial services organization to identify an Internal Auditor in North Dallas for a contract role supporting the 2026 year-end SOX audit and testing requirements.

The position offers a hybrid schedule of four days onsite and one day remote, focusing on evaluating internal controls, documenting testing results, and supporting the Internal Audit team through its annual compliance cycle, including testing ~85 controls across Accounts

Qualifications

• 2+ years of internal or external audit experience with hands-on SOX 404 testing.
• Experience evaluating key internal controls and documenting workpapers.
• Strong Excel skills to organize and document SOX testing results.
• Understanding of Accounts Payable, Inventory, Finance and related controls.
• Ability to manage testing assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Test approximately 85 controls across AP, Inventory, Finance and Operations.
• Document testing results and support the Internal Audit team during the annual cycle.
• Collaborate with control owners and external auditors to resolve testing questions.
