Pearson is hiring a Security Engineer for the Sovereign Team to act as a senior, hands-on contributor shaping secure architecture for regulated environments.

You will validate deployments against sovereign requirements, design tooling and automated governance, and mentor engineers while engaging with auditors and government customers.

The role emphasizes leadership in technical direction rather than people management, with budget and vendor discussions part of the remit.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, MIS or equivalent technical discipline.
• Significant hands-on experience in cloud and infrastructure security engineering at senior/lead level.
• Demonstrable experience in regulated or accredited environments (FedRAMP, GovRAMP, NIST SP 800-53, ISO27001).
• Strong cloud security depth in Azure, GCP and AWS, including boundary design, network segmentation and identity.
• Experience defining and evidencing technical controls for external audits with assessors.
• Willingness to mentor engineers and engage with development teams on secure SDLC practices.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct readiness assessments for regulated or sovereign environments and review data flows.
• Identify architectural blockers across identity, cloud, application, logging and data controls.
• Translate regulatory requirements into concrete designs, standards and hardening guidance.
• Lead tool selection and onboarding for regulated environments; design/validate sovereign tooling boundaries.
• Oversee vulnerability and control health, support audits and vendor engagements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the team.
