Job summary

EMR USA Metal Recycling seeks a Transportation Compliance Coordinator to lead DOT/FMCSA compliance for the Southwest Region. This role is based out of either our Houston or Dallas hub, with travel to other sites as needed.

You will maintain audit readiness, manage driver qualification files, monitor regulatory changes, and coordinate incident follow-up with third-party providers and internal teams to ensure consistent adherence across the region.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in DOT/FMCSA compliance, transportation regulatory compliance, safety, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT drug/alcohol testing requirements.
• Experience managing vendor or third-party compliance service relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own the relationship with the third-party provider responsible for driver qualification files and keep records accurate for all SW Region drivers.
• Maintain FMCSA/DOT audit readiness across regional transportation operations.
• Monitor regulatory changes related to drug/alcohol testing, ELD requirements, vehicle inspections and other FMCSA regulations.
• Ensure updates are communicated and implemented across all SW Region locations.
• Coordinate follow-up for transportation incidents and investigations across the region.
• Establish and maintain consistent compliance documentation and processes.
• Serve as the regional point of contact for regulatory agencies, DOT/FMCSA representatives, and third-party auditors.
• Partner with transportation leadership to identify compliance gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Support a culture of proactive transportation compliance throughout the Southwest Region.
