Job summary

The Nature Conservancy is seeking a Southwest Prescribed Fire Manager to provide fire management leadership in Arizona and New Mexico. This position will implement essential prescribed fire practices and collaborate with local and tribal agencies to enhance conservation efforts within these ecosystems.

The successful candidate must demonstrate robust experience in fire management and partner engagement. This role includes overseeing prescribed fire training and ensuring compliance with fire management standards across business units.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in fire management or related field.
• Must meet NWCG qualifications for RXB2 within 12 months.
• Experience developing strategic fire management plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire management leadership in Arizona and New Mexico.
• Implement prescribed fire operations and review fire management plans.
• Train and mentor fire staff across programs.
