Job summary

Trinity Consultants seeks a Field Botanist to perform botanical field surveys, vegetation mapping, habitat assessments, and environmental compliance monitoring across the Southwest region. The role supports projects with field data collection, reports, and regulatory documentation, working independently and with multidisciplinary teams.

Based in Phoenix or Tucson, Arizona, you will contribute to technical deliverables and client projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Biology, Ecology, or Environmental Science.
• 2+ years in environmental consulting or biological fieldwork.
• 1+ year in Southwest botanical surveys or related work.
• Experience identifying Southwest plant species, including protected species.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Proficiency with GPS, field data collection tools, and GIS.
• Proficiency with MS Office and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct botanical field surveys and vegetation mapping.
• Identify and evaluate native, threatened, and endangered plant species and habitats.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain botanical field data using GPS and GIS.
• Evaluate habitat conditions and potential impacts to botanical resources.
• Coordinate field activities and train field personnel on methods and data collection.
• Prepare and contribute to botanical survey reports and regulatory documentation.
• Maintain accurate field notes, records, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with managers, clients, and regulatory agencies on findings.
