Who We Are

As a part of SNHMC Surgical Services, the Endoscopy unit has multiple procedure rooms where staff perform between 12-28 outpatient (80%) and inpatient (20%) procedures per day. Procedures include GI, pulmonology, and outpatient bone marrow biopsies, with most patients receiving anesthesia. The team works flexible shifts and take call shifts to provide care on an emergent basis to our community.

About The Job

As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Endoscopy Procedural Technician will complete a competency-based orientation program to serve both inpatient and outpatient populations requiring endoscopy procedures. The technician assists the endoscopist by performing duties that ensure safe and effective endoscopy procedures, working under the guidance of the circulating RN, Resource Nurse, and unit managers.

What Youll Do

• Assist with room turnover.
• Maintain appropriate levels of inventory and routine care.
• Reprocess and maintain endoscopic equipment according to infection control standards, organizational policies, and manufacturer instructions.

Who You Are

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• LNA or NH Medical Technologist registration preferred at hire or within 30 days.
• BLS certification preferred at hire or within 30 days.
• Certification as Central Services Endoscopy Technician preferred but not required.
• Prior Endoscopy Procedural Technician or Sterile Processing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical and technical terminology required.
• Ability to achieve unit-specific competencies within specified timeframes, including equipment reprocessing, familiarization with endoscopy tools, troubleshooting, and assisting in complex procedures.
