Position Profile

Girls on the Run Minnesota (GOTR MN) seeks a relationship-driven, entrepreneurial, and detail-oriented Regional Manager to lead regional programming and build sustainable growth in Rochester and throughout Southern Minnesota. With Girls on the Run teams across the region, this role will grow GOTR’s presence through strong local partnerships, volunteer engagement, publicity, and community outreach, introducing more communities, schools, and organizations to the magic of Girls on the Run.

The Regional Manager will manage program operations, support volunteers, and build authentic connections with schools, community partners, donors, and families. This unique role combines program management with responsibility for regional growth and community engagement to ensure GOTR is empowering, culturally responsive, and sustainable. The Regional Manager reports directly to the Program Director and collaborates across departments to support a sustainable, high-quality regional model that ensures consistent program delivery, volunteer support, and community engagement.

This position is based in Southern Minnesota, ideally in Rochester or the surrounding area. Candidates must reside in the region or be willing to relocate. The role includes regular travel throughout Southern Minnesota and one day per week working from the GOTR MN office in St. Paul.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Operations & Volunteer Support
  • Manage seasonal program operations for Southern Minnesota sites, coordinating timelines, materials, and communication to support consistent, high-quality program delivery.
  • Recruit, assign, and onboard program sites and volunteer coaches.
  • Prepare and help facilitate coach training.
  • Conduct site visits and support program implementation.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for regional coaches.
  • Manage regional materials, certifications, and records.
  • Lead Camp GOTR (our one-week summer program in July) in Southern Minnesota.
Community Engagement
  • Lead, develop, and carry out a regional growth plan, in partnership with the Program Director, that sets priorities for site recruitment and retention, community partnerships, and regional visibility.
  • Build strong relationships with schools, companies, community organizations, and local leaders to expand awareness and participation in GOTR.
  • Work with our program team to recruit and train culturally competent coaches, especially from underrepresented communities.
  • Identify and support growth to new sites; adapt programming in response to community input.
  • Represent GOTR at community meetings, networking events, and speaking engagements to build relationships and expand regional visibility.
Events, Publicity & Development
  • Lead planning for the Southern Minnesota GOTR 5K and other regional celebrations.
  • Support the Twin Cities 5K and statewide events (e.g., Limitless Potential Luncheon).
  • Host and support community-building and fundraising events such as trivia nights, film festivals, and other creative regional gatherings.
  • Support donor and sponsor cultivation and stewardship in Southern Minnesota, and help identify new opportunities.
  • Contribute regional insights, program data, and community stories to foundation proposals and grant reports.
  • Partner with the Development and Communications Team to identify local media opportunities and share regional program impact.
  • Co-lead regional SoleMates fundraising efforts (e.g., partnering with MedCity Marathon).
Who You Are
  • You bring 5+ years of relevant professional experience in nonprofit program management, community engagement, or volunteer coordination, with demonstrated success managing programs or partnerships independently.
  • You’re passionate about the Girls on the Run mission.
  • You’re a pro-active relationship-builder, comfortable introducing new communities to GOTR, cultivating partnerships, and growing our regional presence through outreach, public speaking, and creative events.
  • You’re organized and detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple projects while keeping the big picture in mind.
  • You work independently, exercise sound judgment, and know when to seek input or additional support.
  • You’re a clear communicator and collaborative teammate, skilled at working across diverse groups of people with cultural humility.
  • You feel confident using digital tools like Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRM systems, Canva, and email platforms.
  • You are located in (or willing to relocate to) Rochester, MN or the surrounding area.
  • You have regular access to a personal vehicle for travel throughout Southern Minnesota and weekly work from the GOTR Office in St. Paul

  • Includes generous PTO, health and dental insurance, a retirement plan with employer match, a monthly mileage stipend, and a flexible remote work policy (with weekly travel to the Twin Cities).
  • Some evening and weekend hours are required, with limited vacation availability during key event seasons.
  • All positions with GOTR MN require a successful background check.
