Job summary

Orthodox Union’s Yachad South Florida seeks a relationship-driven Director of Development to lead fundraising efforts in the region. You will identify, cultivate, steward, and solicit charitable gifts from existing and new donors, building relationships with key community members to strengthen OU/Yachad’s fundraising capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• A minimum of 7 years of fundraising or related transferable experience required.
• Strong commitment to Jewish philanthropy and serving the disability community.
• Experience presenting priorities and information clearly, both in writing and in person.
• Previous demonstrated experience successfully closing 5- and 6-figure gifts.
• Strong knowledge of the philanthropic Jewish community in Florida is essential.
• Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing an annual campaign strategy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a portfolio of fundraising donors and prospects through all phases of the giving cycle, from validation and engagement through cultivation, solicitation, gift negotiation, and stewardship with the expectation of growing the campaign to a minimum of $500K annually.
• Conduct a minimum of 60 prospect meetings annually to cultivate and solicit prospects and close gifts.
• Complete a minimum of 30 major gift solicitations annually.
• Plan and organize fundraising events to help fulfill fundraising goals.
• Work in partnership with the Regional Director to identify key prospects and leaders who will move Yachad South Florida’s fundraising forward.
• Responsible for managing communications and follow-up, including detailed contact reports on all donor prospects in portfolio and updating all moves in Yachad’s CRM, Velocity.
