Job description

The client is seeking a Director for Miami and Dade County to help advance access to quality Jewish education through equitable advocacy and increased philanthropic support. This hybrid role focuses on cultivating relationships and growing financial commitments from existing supporters and inspiring new community members to become significant donors. The Director is expected to build momentum through effective client relations and fundraising efforts, supported by the state and national office, and will report to the Southern Director.

Key responsibilities include creating and executing a community engagement and revenue-growth plan through donor solicitations, cultivation, and stewardship. The Director will also maintain and grow relationships with donors, identify and pursue new donor opportunities, and help achieve quarterly and annual fundraising goals. In addition, the role involves recruiting and developing lay leadership for leadership roles and providing regular updates that encourage greater involvement in The client’s education and policy advocacy work.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in sales, fundraising, or a related field with a proven record of achieving and exceeding goals, along with the ability to pivot quickly in rapidly changing situations. The role requires strong self-direction, problem-solving, and analytical thinking; the ability to prioritize, work independently, manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with others. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, and meaningful ties to the Miami-Dade Jewish community and schools; the Director will also be expected to track communications and meetings in a CRM, engage supporters in action alerts and voting, and represent The client at community events and forums.
