THE JOB:

Join our vibrant South End Market at MGM Springfield as a Cook, where you'll refine your culinary skills while fostering memorable connections with guests. Your warm attitude and genuine attentiveness will be key in understanding their unique stories and needs, ensuring that every interaction contributes to creating unforgettable WOW moments that will stay with them long after their visit.

THE STARTING RATE: $21.30 per hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • To maintain a solid knowledge of food products and skillfully apply culinary techniques, it's essential to stay updated on various culinary methods, ingredient characteristics, and seasonal produce. Familiarity with kitchen equipment is equally important; this involves knowing the proper usage, maintenance, and safety protocols for tools ranging from knives to ovens. Continuous practice and education in both areas will enhance your culinary expertise and ensure a safe, efficient kitchen environment.
  • Assist kitchen leadership and staff in execution of service
  • Maintain solid knowledge, understanding and preparation of base sauces, stocks and soups
  • Work as a team, assist all guest's needs and inquiries


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Knowledgeable of weights, measures and various cooking techniques
  • Knowledge of knives and knife skills, standard kitchen equipment and supplies, including, but not limited to toasters, refrigerators, coolers, slicers, beverage machines, Cryovac machine and smallwares
  • Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations
  • Can work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
  • Must be 18 years of age
