Job summary

Arbor Day Foundation’s Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City is seeking a Sous Chef to lead the kitchen and help craft seasonal menus that delight guests while supporting the Foundation’s mission. You will report to the Director of Food and Beverage and collaborate with Timbers, Banquets, and other leaders across the property.

The role demands a hands-on, high-energy leader with at least 1 year of culinary experience, strong communication, and a passion for hospitality.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related culinary experience.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety.
• Ability to coach and develop kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and create new menu options based on seasons and customer demand.
• Supervise training plans, performance evaluations, scheduling and inventory.
• Enforce safety and sanitation regulations and train new staff.
• In the Executive Chef’s absence, lead the kitchen and manage staff.
• Support junior kitchen employees with line cooking and dish plating.
