Job summary

José Andrés Group is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef to lead daily kitchen operations in a high‑standards environment. You will run the line, coach cooks, manage station pars and ticket flow, and uphold food safety while supporting inventory and COGS discipline.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years kitchen experience with 1–2+ years in lead/line role
• Advanced station skills across grill, sauté, fry, garde manger
• Knowledge of HACCP/food safety; ServSafe Manager or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Lead line during service and ensure prep, service, and sanitation meet standards
• Coach cooks on technique, station organization, and expo discipline
• Maintain FIFO, labeling, dating, and yield accuracy for batch production
• Monitor pass quality, pacing, and communicate issues to FOH
• Assist with inventory and COGS targets; support menu changes and specials
• Ensure safety, sanitation, and equipment maintenance; prepare for inspections
