Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf in Peoria, AZ seeks a skilled Sous Chef to join the kitchen management team. You will assist the Executive Sous Chef in daily operations, supervise staff, and help ensure top quality and safety across kitchen outlets.

The role requires 2+ years of sous chef or equivalent experience, strong cost control and budgeting knowledge, and excellent communication. Evenings and weekends required; competitive compensation and benefits available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years’ minimum experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent (managing multiple kitchen outlets preferred).
• One to two years’ supervisory experience preferred.
• American Culinary Federation certification of Certified Chef de Cuisine or higher is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of food, sanitation, and cost control.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret recipes, write routine reports and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus, production schedules, and purchase orders; ensure food safety and quality.
• Provide accurate recipes and cost sheets for all items.
• Develop positive relationships with guests, contractors, and suppliers.
• Lead by example to foster open communication on kitchen operations and safety.
• Assist in hiring and training of culinary staff; conduct pre-interviews and performance reviews.
• Supervise kitchen staff, ensure adherence to policies, and manage inventory and labor.
