Job summary

The Black Whale, a premier high-volume restaurant on the South Coast of MA, is seeking a Sous Chef to join our growing team. You will bring passion for great food, strong culinary skills, and proven leadership to a fast-paced coastal kitchen.

Reporting to Partners & General Manager, you will oversee KM(s) and HOH hourly staff, ensuring top quality, consistency and staff development in a waterfront setting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen team in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong culinary technique and palate development.
• Ability to train and develop line cooks and prep staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen operations during service in a high-volume restaurant.
• Supervise/coach line cooks and HOH staff.
• Maintain quality, consistency, and food safety standards.
• Collaborate with Partners & GM on menu, costs and scheduling.
