Job summary

Fairmount Park is seeking a Sous Chef to lead and train kitchen staff, manage meal production from prep to plate, and ensure high standards of quality, safety, and presentation. You will oversee busy service times, contribute to menu input, and maintain sanitation across the kitchen in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified applicants will have 3-5 years of culinary experience, a Food Handler certification, and the ability to obtain an Illinois Gaming License.

Qualifications

• Must have 3-5 years of culinary experience.
• Food Handler certification or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management.
• Ability to handle high pace production and long shifts.
• Must be able to obtain and retain Illinois Gaming License.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate training and supervise kitchen staff in meal production and presentation.
• Oversee use of kitchen equipment and proper sanitation.
• Develop menu input and assist in planning buffet layouts and stations.
• Ensure food quality and safety standards across all dishes.
• Lead and evaluate team performance and provide corrective counseling as needed.
