Join to apply for the SOUS CHEF (FULL TIME) role at CulinArt Group

We are hiring immediately for a full-time SOUS CHEF position at The Harley School - 1981 Clover Street, Rochester, NY 14618. Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. More details upon interview.

Requirement: Previous scratch cooking and management experience preferred.

Pay Range: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available.

Job Summary

Helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook foods. Coordinates activities of cooks and other food-service associates. Assumes responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and standards, ensuring deadlines are met.
  2. Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, training, and counseling.
  3. Stores food in designated areas following all safety and sanitation procedures.
  4. Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
  5. Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, and keeps workstations clean.
  6. Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly manner.
  7. Demonstrates understanding of menu items and explains them to associates and customers.
  8. Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
  9. Monitors inventory, deliveries, and tracks product usage and waste.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.
