Job Details
  • We are hiring immediately for a full-time SOUS CHEF position.
  • Location: Queens University - 1900 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28274. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Full-time; days and hours may vary. Mornings, evenings, and weekends required as needed. More details upon interview.
  • Requirement: Prior cooking and food service experience is required.
  • Pay Range: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook foods, coordinates activities of kitchen staff, and assumes responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Responsibilities
  1. Cook and prepare food following recipes and standards.
  2. Supervise food service staff, including interviewing, scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
  3. Store food properly, following safety and sanitation procedures.
  4. Ensure proper food handling, presentation, and temperature maintenance.
  5. Maintain sanitation of equipment and workstations.
  6. Interact with customers to resolve complaints and relay information to supervisors.
  7. Understand and explain menu items.
  8. Monitor inventory and supplies, track production and waste.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
