Salary:

$60,000-$70,000/yr.

Join our culinary team in Boston, MA

As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a high-volume, premier corporate dining facility in Boston, MA. You will assist in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, catering events, developing daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment. You may supervise hourly associates, and work with the Executive Chef/Chef to develop new menus and assist with ordering, catering functions/events, and all aspects of the daily culinary operation.

Must be flexible to work both early mornings (5:30 am) and late shifts, ending at 11:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and expenditures
  • Assist with planning and creating menus
  • Produce and execute catering events
  • Implement new culinary programs with marketing and culinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A.S. or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years of culinary/kitchen management experience, including high-volume catering
  • Catering experience is required
  • Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations
  • Knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, sanitation, food cost controls, presentation
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Outlook, E-mail, Internet
  • Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs
  • ServSafe certification (highly desirable)
